Clinical chemistry YAVAC® & YALAB® plasma tubes with spray-dried lithium or sodium heparin additions are available. Because it forms an antithrombin complex, heparin has anticoagulant properties.
When the fill level is appropriate, 17 IU of pharmaceutical grade heparin per milliliter of blood provides the best anticoagulation in all tubes.
A unique process is used to spray-dry the lithium heparin in tubes onto the YAVAC® & YALAB® inner walls of the tubes, ensuring that the additive is uniformly dispersed and achieving optimal solubility. Lithium heparin is typically used over sodium heparin for clinical chemistry.

It is recommended to gently invert fluoride tubes 180 degrees and then back again 8–10 times.
